Getting Around
There're various forms of public transport in Sydney, allowing you to
get around the city quickly. Let's the Sydney Explorer bus service as well
as the Sydney Pass take you around while regular public transport is also
available -- generally good and considered cheaper.
Air
Sydney's Kingsford-Smith Airport, just 10 kilometers from the city, is busy
and modern with around 35 international and eight domestic airlines serving a

Train

Darwin entirely by train. Great Sounthern Railways' transcontinental Ghan

east-west route.
Bus
Sydney Buses' extensive network comprises 300 routes and above serving the
city and suburbs. Major bus centers are located at Wynard, Town Hall,
Central Station and Circular Quay. The NightRide buses are operated after
all other forms of public transport have stopped.
Monorail
The above-ground railway, the Monorail is very popular among tourists and
another way to get around the city with a frequency of every three to five
minutes.

Light Rail
The Light Rail is the newest form of transport in Sydney, running 24 hours a
day from Central Station to Star City Casino, and on to Lilyfield via Wentworth
Park, Glebe and Rozelle Bay till late.

Ferry
Ferries can get you to and show you around Sydney's spectacular sights with
over 135 years experiences on the harbour. Boats depart from Circular Quay to Darling
Harbour, Mosman, Taronga Zoo, Watsons Bay, North Sydney, Kirribilli, Balmain,
Birkenhead, and most places in between. There are also speedy hydrofoil services
to Manly and Parramatta.
Car
Rental cars are available in various sizes and shapes. There're
several budget companies operating along with the usual global brands.
Taxi
Sydney's white cabs are readily available. You'll rarely be in trouble
getting one, except on busy nights like New Years Eve or after a major event.
Bicycle
Bikes can be hired from a number of outlets, and several companies also offer
motorcycle tours of the city. Look for maps detailing Sydney's many bike
paths which are available from the Roads and Traffic Authority.
